Folk of the wood

April 3, 2007

This site is very graphical and gives a good explanation of how to set up the fiddle, tune it etc. as well as providing some good beginner/intermediate lessons on specific tunes. It mostly focuses on bluegrass/traditional tunes such as red haired boy, whiskey before breakfast etc.

Similarly, it has good lessons for mandola, mandolin, violin, guitar and banjo.

A very good banjo resources site with lessons, reviews and tablatures. The site is well laid out and easy to use.

The lessons section also includes videos. The tabs are in various formats, so you may need to download some software (they have links on the site) before you can view them.
